About VAS

Our Story
In 2015, Tho Tran founded Vietnamese American Services (VAS) after encountering the overwhelming challenges that many Vietnamese immigrants face—language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and a sense of isolation. Having arrived in the United States in 2011, Tho first-hand experienced the hardships of navigating essential services and being denied critical services. From newly arrived families to older generations who had been in the U.S. for decades, many in the Vietnamese community were still facing barriers to integration and opportunities.
VAS began with a simple but powerful vision: to create a supportive and inclusive space where Vietnamese individuals and families can find resources, information, and guidance to integrate and thrive in their new home.
Today, VAS continues to serve as a bridge—connecting our community to vital social services, empowering through education, and celebrating Vietnamese culture and resilience.
